Fabulous Fabrics

Welcome back to the Thread and Fold blog where we showcase our gorgeous, handmade embroidery kits, slow stitch embroideries and our fabulous online haberdashery. As you may have seen if you follow us on social media, this week we have been celebrating our pre-printed embroidery patterns designed by artist Valerie Carr.

preprintedOn the designs Valerie says, “With these pieces I have drawn inspiration from nature to create a true blank canvas that you can adapt, tweak and let your creativity loose. These works for me are an excellent foundation for those both new and old to embroidery and I hope that you will enjoy the pieces. As with many of my works, I looked to nature to create a unique set of pre-printed fabrics for embroidery that would enable beginners and the more advanced to have an enjoyable time.”

Each of the gorgeous patterns are unique to Thread & Fold, demonstrating both our love of creating new ideas and the exclusivity of our designs. Printed on delicious linen, both for its texture and its ability to “support” an embroidery and hold it in place, the fabrics are available in the following designs:

  • Orange Thistles
  • Vermillion Roses
  • Summer Florals
  • White Lilies
  • Vase with Lilies
  • Orange Thistles

Embroidery fabricDaily and familiar images are transformed into a space that welcomes the potential of the embroiderer to craft their own colour scheme and textures within the design. Valerie adds, “What I love about this particular range is that it really allows the creator to express themselves and explore the world of embroidery. For me, there is no right or wrong colour combination to use and it allows the individual to have fun and play with the pieces”.

These embroidery patterns, proudly made by hand, continue our tradition of offering one-of-a-kind pieces to our clients that capture a bohemian spirit.
